The Jewish community at Duke comes together every Friday during the academic year for Shabbat.

We welcome Shabbat together with candle lighting, the singing of Shalom Aleikhem, and a short d’var torah.  We continue the celebration with student-led Reform and Conservative services followed by a free delicious Shabbat dinner.  Make your reservation for the Benenson Family Shabbat dinner at Shabbat – Just Click It!

Additional Shabbat programs include happy hour, a class on Jewish prayer with the Rabbi, and exciting dinner themes.

You’re welcome to come just for services, just for dinner, or for both! Services begin at 6:15pm and dinner begins at 7:15pm. Hope to see you there!

Want to share with some of your non-Jewish friends what it’s like to experience Shabbat dinner? Shabbat dinner and all religious services are open to the entire community.
